The interesting facts of Zimbabwean festivals
With the dawn of 21st centaury, Harare confronted its biggest political and economic crises after the presidential and parliamentary elections. It was than, when the elected council was replaced by the governemt-apointed commission and igniting the economy plague. The essential services for the development of this tourism hub such as rubbish collection and street repairs began to worsen with the time and failed to catch the attention of the eye. The steady downfall ended up making the city a sign of devastation and the developments non-existent. In May 2006 the Zimbabwean newspaper the Financial Gazette, described the city in an editorial as a “sunshine city-turned-sewage farm”.
Festivals and exuberant events have long been celebrated on the soil of the country and one gets to examine its happening nature throughout the year.
